35 More Minutes

Between the lost days last month from the flu and being back on the elimination diet, I just don't have the energy level I need for racing. So, when I picked up my race packet, I switched to the 5K. It seems much more manageable.

Today I walked 35 minutes in the neighborhood.

30 Minutes in the Neighborhood

I did a leisurely 30 minute walk in the neighborhood. The weather was nice. I'm signed up to do the Rodeo Run 10K this Satuday, but I think it might be a stretch.

20 Minutes of Swimming Laps

This morning I went to the Aquatic Center and did laps. It wasn't as cold outside as the last time I went, but the water did not seem too warm. I wore a cap over my hair and ears, so that helped with the wind. I had trouble getting out of the pool again. Between the poorly placed ropes (right in the middle of the step) and the long distance between the top step and the deck, I banged up my knees pretty badly. I guess I'm going to need to work on strengthening my upper body so that I can at least get out of the pool!

A NEW CHAPTER - TRIATHLON TRAINING

If you've been a longtime visitor to my blog, you'll notice the new heading - Year 4.
It's hard to believe that this next chapter will be my fourth year of training. Although this Spring's switch is a focus on my first Triathlon, I still plan to continue long distance running/walking.

All of my previous entries, including how I lost a lot of weight and the link to that diet, along with my First Marathon are on the left hand side, just a click away.
