18 Miles in the Park
Steve and I met at 5:00am at Oyster Creek park. The weather was terrific, in the mid 50's. I wore a racer back shirt and was a little cool. But by the time we finished it was a lot hotter and I was very comfortable. I was tired, but my back didn't hurt at all. I had had a chiropractic adjustment on Tuesday, also started taking Turmeric for inflammation (3 caps a day), and got a new pair of compression shorts from Sweat It Out - this time for lower back support. I'm pretty sure it was the combination of all three things that helped. The new shorts are very tight in the tummy, buttocks and back area. So tight, that when I went to the restroom it took me 5 minutes to get them back on. Between "sausage" fingers (swollen even though I took E-caps) and the tight shorts, I thought I would have to call for help.
I decided that I would walk NY with Steve instead of trying to run. I'd much rather have a partner to do the race with, than finish a little faster and be by myself the whole time.
