15 Miles - OMG
My plan was to get up at 5:30am, go to Oyster Creek Park and do 15 miles. It's a good thing that I had blocked out the morning because I overslept and didn't make it to the park until 8:00am. I don't know if it was just too hot at the end of my mileage or if I had taken in enough water yesterday, but I had my doubts about whether or not I would make it to mile 15. I did 3:1 intervals for the first 6 miles and then did intermittent running for the balance. I stopped at the car after each 4.5 mile loop, had a gu, got a new bottle of water and did stretches. My legs started cramping at 13.5 miles, the end of the 3rd loop. I'd never had this happen before. At one point I would have been content to roll onto the path and stop. But I persisted and finished. I'm glad I did my run today, this way I can rest tomorrow and be ready for the TRI.
